A few weeks ago my man Andrew and I drove up to New York so we could see my fam, especially my brother Ryan who was going to be back from Afghanistan for two weeks. And I just love New York, so I was very happy to be home for a few days.
Here's Dad checking out the war medals I brought back from Italy. Most girls would bring back a nice leather jacket or some stylish shoes from Italy, but I couldn't call myself a King if I didn't bring home treasures like some war medals :)
The helmet is necessary for such intense investigation.

Andrew and I decided to make our way out to North Lake and the Catskill Mountain House site one afternoon. It was just as wonderful as I remember it.
It has the best view around, that's for sure.
And it was just a tad on the bright side.
Another day or so later we went to Nana's house for some good eatin and a little birthday celebration, since Ry's birthday was earlier that month and Andrew's was that day.
Oh yes, drink that like a stogey.
Nothing like a Holy Cow ice cream cake to celebrate summer birthdays!
AND, a visit to Nana's wouldn't be complete without an after-dinner nap!
Well, it was a short trip, but very relaxing and loads of fun, especially with Ryan and Broni there. I just love being with my family and all those whom I love dearly. Hopefully I can make it back there during the fall so I can enjoy some of the best fall weather and colors around!
